Parent Guide: Reindeer Food Mission

This activity makes an edible snack mix for your child to taste-test before Christmas: 1 cup each of pretzels, M&M’s, raisins, popcorn and marshmallows. Optional additions should be edible, such as sprinkles or holiday cereal.

Choose ingredients and portion sizes suitable for your child, check allergies and supervise preparation. Keep raisins and chocolate away from pets.

Keep the snack mix indoors. Don’t scatter it outside or feed it to wildlife. If your family sets out a small bowl for Santa’s reindeer on Christmas Eve, a grown-up can collect it afterward to keep the magic going. Never mix craft glitter into food.

Help your child complete the mission, then mark it complete together.
